Meet the owner

Louise Davidson

Hi! I’m Louise, owner and creator of The Little Allotment Company. When I’m not picking out new seed varieties or packing up orders, you’ll find me up at the Allotment, pottering about with my 4 year old daughter Savannah and our beautiful dachshund Honey.

With fond childhood memories with my Grandma fruit picking and gardening, I was excited to share these same experiences with my daughter - when Savannah was born, I put our name down on a very long waiting list at a local allotment! within a year, a hugely overgrown plot became available. Situated at the back of the allotment site complete with a greenhouse, rickety old shed and fully entwined with a wild bamboo plant! I had my work cut out although, we couldn't be more excited at the prospect, plus a little nurturing with nature with my little lady to explore and learn about all that nature has to offer, it really is a wonderful way to connect and take time out of our busy lives.

A few of my favourite things…

  • Earl Grey Tea & Teapots

  • Growing, preparing fresh homegrown produce

  • Dreaming of Dahlias, Peonies, Hydrangea, Zinnas for beautiful displays in my home and garden

  • The scent of home grown Coriander and Mint

  • Family walks and adventures especially along the coast

  • Fashion, Home and Interiors

  • Gardens & Allotments, I have a particular love for potting sheds

Our Story

The Little Allotment Company was founded in the Spring of 2021, when our journey began, we excitedly launched ‘The Spring Beginner Kit, the interest from this kit coupled with the incredible benefits of wellbeing and nutrition that growing your own brings, this hugely inspired us to create a product range that encourages others; whatever their ability, to begin their very own Little Allotment. Our carefully curated kits aim to provide a sense of nurturing and wellbeing with nature whilst being mindful in our approaches that enable a positive impact on our environment.  We are continually expanding our product range and explore the most environmentally friendly products as a small business. We now have stockists all over the UK and look forward to sharing our journey with you as we grow as a small business.

How it all started…

One spring evening whilst drinking tea in the shed I had an idea:  I decided to share our experiences and create a more balanced lifestyle. I wanted to create and share my ideas, with the environment in mind. With having such a big interest in designs and trends our first Kit was launched on Etsy this was The Spring Beginner Kit, this was a great success. This has now led to the range expanding, beautifully designed packaging, and rebranding. I have 100’s of ideas, and hope there is something for everyone to experience growing your own.

Behind the scenes at The Little Allotment Company, it is just me at this stage. I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of running a small business, and carefully put together all elements of the kits and package each individual order.
